Job summary

ACMH, Inc. is seeking a Peer Program Specialist to provide in-home support and skills training in Queens Village (Fridays through Mondays, 9:00am-4:00pm). You will teach daily living skills, monitor housing needs, and document client progress while collaborating with the Program Director.

Lived experience with behavioral health or homeless services is required, with NYCPS certification preferred. Strong English communication and basic computer skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

  • Lived experience with mental health, substance use, or homelessness services.
  • NYC Peer Program certification (NYCPS) preferred.
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication; basic computer/data entry skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct service to clients in their homes and trains daily living skills.
  • Teaches hygiene, budgeting, meal planning, budgeting, and safety practices.
  • Monitors apartment maintenance and reports issues to supervisor.
  • Teaches self-care, travel skills, and escorts clients when needed.
  • Documents services and client progress promptly; supports self-advocacy.
  • Facilitates/co-facilitates groups as requested and attends trainings.
