The Arc Lexington is seeking a Peer Mentor I in the Transitions program to work with young adults developing academic, career, and life skills for greater independence. You will serve as a positive role model, providing guidance, encouragement, and support as students navigate new experiences and pursue personal goals.

Lead by example in class sessions, help build relationships, support community activities, and encourage responsible decisions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Current college enrollment or recent college graduation is required.
• Valid NYS driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with young adults in the Transitions program to help them develop academic, career, and life skills.
• Serve as a positive role model, offering guidance, encouragement and support.
• Attend classes with students and help them build positive relationships.
• Support community activities and encourage responsible decision-making.
• Help students grow confidence, independence and personal goals.
