  • Represent Academic Advising at campus events such as New and Transfer Student Orientations, major and career fairs, Nighthawks Preview, and other UNG sponsored events.
  • Develop and present workshops such as Advising Appointment stations, Nighthawk Registration workshops, and information sessions.
  • Promote student services through outreach and marketing.
  • Aid students in course scheduling during registration and add/drop periods.
  • Attend ongoing training as necessary (initial PA training, FERPA training, etc).
  • Attend monthly meetings and office duties.

Job Summary

The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Peer Advisor for the Dahlonega campus. Peer Advisors will work closely with Professional Academic Advisors to provide general information to students, promote academic advising, present major specific information sessions, and provide support for at-risk students. Peer Advisors undergo intensive training to enhance leadership skills and learn UNG policies and procedures. Peer Advisors will work approximately 30 hours a semester, depending on availability and Advising Center needs.

Required Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
  • Must be enrolled as a current student in good standing with the university and must maintain a 2.75 GPA.
