Job summary

Sweetgrass Pediatrics in North Charleston, SC is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to support providers, take vitals, prepare exam rooms, and document patient information accurately in the chart. You will assist during examinations, instruct patients on medications and diets, collect specimens, perform basic lab tests, and ensure supplies and equipment are ready and sterile.

Applicants must hold an active RMA or CMA, CPR certification, and have experience with electronic medical records;

Qualifications

• Must hold active RMA/CMA certification.
• CPR certification required.
• Experience in a pediatric medical practice preferred.
• Working knowledge of computer applications; EMR experience preferred.
• Ability to speak, read and write effectively.
• Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
• Detail-oriented with strong deadline management.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and document vitals.
• Explain procedures and medications to patients.
• Prepare patients for examinations.
• Assist physicians during exams.
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens.
• Perform basic laboratory tests.
• Maintain exam rooms and stock supplies.
• Process messages from patients and staff.
