Miami Children’s Hospital is seeking a part-time RN for Vascular Access to support pediatric patients during nights. The role emphasizes IV and PICC line procedures, patient education, and collaboration with physicians and nurses to deliver safe, evidence-based care.

The ideal candidate will have BSN, Florida RN licensure, BLS, and PALS within 3 months, with strong assessment, communication, and multitasking abilities. Night shift position, Magnet hospital environment.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Florida or Multi-State eNLC – active and in good standing
• CPR BLS (American Heart Association) – active and in good standing
• PALS required within first 3 months – active and in good standing
• Proficient in IV insertion and placement

Responsibilities

• Provides vascular access nursing care including IV, PICC line insertion, placement, monitoring and dressing changes.
• Communicates with physicians and staff regarding patient progress and IV therapy.
• Educates patients and families on vascular access procedures and documents teaching in the EHR.
• Assesses patient status, infection control, and skin integrity to prevent complications.
• Follows physician orders and administers medications with six rights of medication administration.
• Plans and documents the care plan in collaboration with the team.
• Performs reassessments and restocks supplies as needed.
• Documents procedures and patient information in the EHR with accurate and timely updates.
