Job summary

Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, OH seeks an experienced RN to join our vascular access team. The role involves inserting and managing peripheral IVs, midlines, and PICCs, with nights hours and a rotating schedule. You will monitor devices for complications, educate families, and collaborate with clinicians on care policies.

The position requires a BSN or ASN with plan to obtain a BSN within five years and current Ohio RN licensure; prior pediatric nursing experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• BSN or ASN with commitment to obtain BSN within 5 years.
• Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Ohio.
• Pediatric nursing experience and strong communication/leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' vascular access needs and determine the most appropriate access device.
• Care for and maintain peripheral IVs, midline catheters, and PICCs.
• Monitor vascular access devices for complications such as infection or occlusion.
• Educate patients and families on vascular access care and maintenance.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement vascular access policies and procedures.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance safety and efficacy of vascular access care.
