Job summary

Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC seeks a Unit Support Associate for a hospital float pool across units. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will assist with patient care, provide direct 1:1 observation for safety, and support unit operations.

The role involves day/night shifts, 8 or 12 hour blocks, and weekend rotation. A High School Diploma or GED is required, with BLS certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS) required.
• Basic computer skills preferred; knowledge of child development is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct 1:1 observation of patients related to safety or behavioral issues.
• Support unit function by assisting in maintenance of supplies and operations.
• Maintain patient safety and environment through room sweep and safety checks.
• Assist with activities of daily living and linen changes as needed.
• Communicate with RN and maintain handoffs regarding patient behavior and duties.
