Job summary

Phoenix Children’s seeks an Advanced Practice Practitioner to join the pediatric liver and kidney transplant teams in Phoenix. The APP will provide inpatient and outpatient coverage across transplant programs, collaborating with hepatologists, nephrologists, surgeons, nutritionists, social workers, and pharmacists.

You will manage medically complex pediatric patients, participate in 24/7 call coverage, and support pre-/post-transplant care with a 10-hour weekday schedule and 5-hour weekend

Qualifications

• Physician Assistant or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner licensed in Arizona.
• At least one year of PA/NP experience in pediatrics or transplantation preferred.
• Must have surgical first assist ability and/or experience.
• Previous inpatient clinical experience is required, preferably in transplant patients.

Responsibilities

• The APP team provides inpatient coverage to liver and kidney transplant programs seven days a week in rotation.
• Manage medically complex pediatric patients with end-stage liver/kidney disease and post-transplant care including immunosuppressant management.
• Collaborate with residents, attendings, and multiple transplant disciplines; strong communication is essential.
• Shift schedule includes 10-hour weekdays with 5-hour weekend shifts; 24/7/365 transplant call coverage with four other APPs.
