Job summary

Phoenix Children’s Hospital is seeking an Advanced Practice Practitioner to join our pediatric abdominal transplant team. The APP will provide inpatient and outpatient coverage for liver and kidney transplant programs, collaborating with hepatologists, nephrologists, surgeons, and the multidisciplinary team.

Ideal candidates hold Arizona PA or NP licensure with transplant or pediatric experience; inpatient experience is required.

Qualifications

• Physician Assistant or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner licensure in Arizona.
• At least one year of PA/NP experience in pediatrics or transplant is preferred.
• Surgical first assist and/or experience is preferred.
• Inpatient clinical experience is required, preferably with transplant patients.

Responsibilities

• The team of five APPs provides inpatient coverage to the liver and kidney transplant programs seven days per week.
• When not providing inpatient coverage, APPs provide outpatient coverage to the liver transplant program.
• Collaborates with hepatologists, nephrologists, surgeons, and multidisciplinary team.
• Manages immunosuppressant therapy and medically complex pediatric patients.
• Educates patients and families; coordinates discharge planning and follow-up.
• Supervises transplant Medical Assistants and Registered Nurses; participates in transplant committees.
