Job summary

Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford, CT, is seeking a Surgical Technologist for the Main Operating Room on a 36‑hour schedule. You will assist the surgeon by passing sterile instruments, maintain sterile technique, and support pediatric patients across procedures.

The role requires completion of a CAAHEP‑accredited Surgical Technology program, CST certification within 6 months, and BLS/CPR. Expect Preoperative and Intraoperative duties under RN supervision, on-site, with a rotating

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited Surgical Technology Program.
• Experience as a Surgical Technician preferred.
• Certification as CST within 6 months of start date.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Assists surgeon by passing sterile instruments and supplies.
• Maintains sterile technique and a safe operating room environment.
• Performs duties before, during and after surgery under RN supervision.
• Prepares and handles instruments, supplies, and wound dressings as needed.
• Supports pediatric patients and collaborates with the OR team.
