Job summary

Children’s National Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join the operating room team in Washington, DC. You’ll scrub, prepare the sterile field, pass instruments, and assist surgeons under RN supervision.

The role supports high-quality pediatric perioperative care and uses aseptic technique. Responsibilities include preparing the OR, maintaining a sterile field, collaborating with nurses and surgeons, and ensuring patient safety.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of aseptic technique and sterile processing.
• Strong human relations and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate with RN and physicians to develop patient care plans.

Responsibilities

• Scrub for routine and complex procedures.
• Prepare the operating room for procedures and open supplies on the sterile field.
• Pass instrumentation and supplies to the surgical team.
• Assist with preparing irrigation solutions, medications, and hemostatic agents as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized peri-operative environment.
