Job summary

Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Surgical Technologist for the night shift (7p–7a) to support the operating room team. The role requires maintaining aseptic technique, preparing supplies, instruments, and assisting RN circulator during procedures.

This position offers 40 hours per week with benefits eligibility; candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, BLS certification, and surgical technology education or military training in the field.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider required.
• Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology required or completion of military training for Surgical Technology/Operating Room Specialist.
• Current NBSTSA or NCCT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in aseptic technique and preparing supplies and instruments before, during, and after procedures.
• Assists RN circulator in patient prep, instrument assembly, equipment setup, and specimen disposition.
• Monitors sterility of supplies and ensures proper usage and accurate charges.
• Documents sterilization activities and participates in performance improvement activities.
• Contributes to policy and procedure development and department standards.

Education

Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program

NBSTSA or NCCT certification preferred
