Job summary

Optimal Beginnings, LLC in Rockville, MD is seeking a full-time Speech Language Pathologist to provide comprehensive evaluations and evidence-based treatment for children with communication and swallowing needs.

You will develop and implement individualized plans, deliver direct therapy, document progress, and collaborate with families and an interdisciplinary team to support functional outcomes across home, school, and community.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in Speech Therapy and speech assessment and intervention.
• Strong knowledge of Communication Disorders and Language Disorders in pediatric populations.
• Experience managing Dysphagia, including evaluation and treatment of pediatric feeding and swallowing challenges.
• Master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology from an accredited program and current state licensure (or eligibility) as an SLP in Maryland.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech‑Language Pathology (CCC‑SLP) or clinical fellowship status in progress.
• Experience working with children with special needs and their families in educational, clinical, or community settings.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills, with the ability to collaborate in an interdisciplinary team environment.
• Commitment to evidence-based practice, cultural responsiveness, and ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide direct therapy services to children with communication and swallowing needs.
• Assess speech, language, and feeding skills and document progress.
• Collaborate with families and an interdisciplinary team to support functional outcomes.
• Participate in team meetings, care planning, and caregiver training, while maintaining accurate clinical records.
