Job summary

The Maryland School for the Blind seeks a licensed Physical Therapist to join its interdisciplinary team on campus. You will assess students, conduct admissions screenings, and manage a caseload within an integrated therapy model, providing both direct and indirect services while maintaining records.

You will also train staff and families, monitor program implementation, and stay current through ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication with children and interdisciplinary teams.
• Desire to engage in ongoing learning.
• Knowledge of sensorimotor development and musculoskeletal function.
• Knowledge of evaluative and treatment techniques for individuals with multiple disabilities 3–21.

Responsibilities

• Conducts physical therapy assessments and admission screenings.
• Manages a student caseload using an integrated therapy model and maintains records.
• Provides consultation and staff/parent training.
• Monitors implementation of student programs and use of adaptive equipment.
• Continued professional development and education.
• Provides new employee training on transfers, lifts, and evacuation devices.
• Moves equipment between buildings and assists with space maintenance.
• Supervises clinical students.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
