Advocate Children’s Hospital Oak Lawn is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to support our outpatient Pediatric Complex Care Unit. This part-time role involves working with complex pediatric patients, many on tracheostomies requiring ventilator management.

Flexibility includes Monday-Friday shifts with potential 10-hour or 8-hour variations. The candidate must hold an RCP license, NBRC RRT credential, and BLS, with at least an associate degree in respiratory care and 5 years of pediatric

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited respiratory care program, with a minimum of an associate degree.
• 5 years of Respiratory Care experience, all within a pediatric environment.
• RCP license and NBRC RRT credential required.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification required.
• Proficient computer skills and EMR system experience.

Responsabilités

• Uses Respiratory therapy processes to support assessment of patients with a range of diagnostics and monitoring.
• Operates specialized ventilators in critical and non-critical settings and assists physicians.
• Administers prescribed medications and therapies per physician orders or protocols.
• Maintains and troubleshoots equipment and ensures safety and functionality.
• Educates patients and families on therapy purpose, technique and self-care.
