Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care on a busy hospital unit, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to promote safe, high-quality outcomes. You will perform the nursing process, educate families, and support optimal patient flow and communication.

The role requires GA RN licensure (or multi-state), BLS, and department-specific certifications within set timeframes. Regular day shifts and a supportive environment are available.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Georgia or multi-state via eNLC/Compact
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA within 30 days of employment or start of shift if ED
• PALS or PEARS certification from AHA within 1 year of employment as required by department

Responsibilities

• Performs nursing process across the continuum to deliver age- and developmentally appropriate patient-family-centered care.
• Integrates language preferences and cultural needs into care delivery.
• Uses clinical decision support tools to recognize issues, prioritize care, and modify plans of care.
• Documents health data using appropriate tools and systems.
• Provides patient and family education tailored to learning needs.
• Delivers nursing care that is safe, effective, and financially responsible.
• Oversees nursing care provided by unlicensed staff while maintaining accountability.
• Engages in ethical practices and maintains professional boundaries.
• Supports a healthy work environment and coordinates care with interdisciplinary teams.
• Drives timely admission, transfer, and discharge to ensure safe patient flow.
