Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is hiring a registered nurse for day shift, with potential evening overtime every other week, to provide direct patient care in the pediatric operating environment. The role requires acting as part of an interdisciplinary team and delivering developmentally appropriate care.

Candidates must have BSN, and an active Georgia RN license (or multi-state via compact), BLS within 30 days, and PALS/PEARS within 1 year.

Qualifications

• 1 year of operating room experience (or enrollment in Periop 101).
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Active RN licensure in Georgia or via Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• BLS certification within 30 days of employment.
• PALS or PEARS within 1 year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs nursing process across the continuum to deliver age-appropriate patient care.
• Incorporates cultural sensitivity and family education into care.
• Uses clinical decision tools to prioritize care and adjust plans.
• Documents patient data accurately and timely.
• Oversees nursing care provided by unlicensed staff.
• Contributes to a safe, ethical, and supportive work environment.
• Facilitates timely admission, transfer, and discharge in collaboration with the team.
• Participates in quality improvement activities to improve patient outcomes.
