Job summary

Children’s National Rehabilitation and Specialized Care Center seeks a Respiratory Therapist to support pediatric patients with complex respiratory needs. You will manage airway care, ventilated patients, and inhaled therapies while educating families and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications include a CoARC‑approved program and NBRC RRT licensure, with six months post‑graduate experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CoARC‑approved respiratory care program.
• Six months post‑graduate experience in respiratory care; neonatal/pediatric experience preferred.
• Licensed as R.R.T. in DC; NBRC; BLS; PALS; ACLS/NPS/NRP preferred.
• Demonstrated ventilator management and clinical evaluation skills; strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide airway management, suctioning, tracheostomy care, and ventilator support.
• Administer inhaled medications and bronchopulmonary hygiene; monitor responses.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, and equipment.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for safe transport of ventilated patients.
• Maintain and test respiratory therapy equipment; document care in EMR.
