Job summary

Children’s National Rehabilitation and Specialized Care Center (RSC) in Washington, DC is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to support children with a range of respiratory conditions and care needs. You will provide comprehensive respiratory care, manage airways, administer inhaled medications, and educate families for home transition.

Position requires CoARC‑approved training and NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist credentials; neonatal/pediatric experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CoARC approved program for respiratory care.
• Associate degree or bachelor's degree preferred.
• Six months post‑graduate experience in all aspects of respiratory care.

Responsibilities

• Operate various types of mechanical ventilators, airway management and medical gas therapy.
• Administers inhaled medications and bronchopulmonary hygiene; monitor responses to therapy.
• Educate patients and families about conditions and disease management.
• Transport mechanically ventilated patients internally and externally as needed.
• Maintain and test respiratory equipment to ensure safe operation.
