Job summary

Children’s National Rehabilitation and Specialized Care Center is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive care for children with respiratory conditions. You will manage airway support, administer medications, and educate families during inpatient stays and transitions home.

The role requires CoARC-accredited training, NBRC RRT certification, BLS, and pediatric/critical care experience. Night shifts with rotating weekends offer a dynamic, family-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Graduated from a CoARC-accredited respiratory care program.
• Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
• Six months post-graduate experience in respiratory care, including critical care.
• Neonatal/pediatric experience preferred.
• DC licensure and NBRC RRT certification required.
• BLS and PALS required; ACLS/NPS/NRP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage various ventilators and airway devices as needed.
• Administer inhaled medications and perform bronchopulmonary hygiene.
• Monitor patient responses to therapy and adjust treatments accordingly.
• Educate patients and families on disease management and equipment use.
• Transport mechanically ventilated patients safely within and outside the organization.
