Job summary

Advocate Health's Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte, NC seeks a Respiratory Therapist to provide direct pediatric respiratory care in a dynamic ICU setting. You will perform ventilator management, oxygen therapy, and ongoing patient assessments under physician orders and approved protocols.

You will independently adjust ventilator settings, document thoroughly, and collaborate with ICU teams to improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Respiratory Care.
• Associate's RRT or RRT Equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the state of North Carolina.
• BLS required per policy guidelines.
• Advanced certifications per facility policy/standards.
• 2 years critical care experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assess and autonomously adjust respiratory therapies.
• Independently adjust ventilator settings and oxygenation strategies.
• Implement weaning protocols and optimize patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with policies.
• Collaborate with intensivists, neonatologists, and the multidisciplinary care team.
• Provide ventilator support and manage life-support equipment.
• Perform and evaluate diagnostic procedures and blood gas analyses.
