Job summary

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is seeking a Respiratory Professional Development Associate to coordinate with leadership and a Respiratory Care Educator to advance the education and competency of respiratory therapists.

The role will involve developing pediatric knowledge, providing opportunities such as in-services and simulations, and mentoring staff while applying evidence-based practice across the department.

Qualifications

• CoARC‑accredited respiratory care program graduate; bachelor's degree required.
• Illinois RCP license with active RRT credential.
• Minimum 2 years pediatric critical care experience and 2 years education/teaching experience.
• BLS required; PALS/NRP/ACLS on hire; Neonatal/Pediatric Specialist within 1 year.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with leadership to develop pediatric knowledge and competency.
• Provide learning opportunities: in-services, simulations, equipment training.
• Mentor bedside staff and preceptors in clinical education.
• Lead educational initiatives and apply evidence-based practice.
• Act as liaison to unit-based councils and interdisciplinary teams.
