Job summary

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our pediatric care teams. You will perform respiratory care per policy, assess patients, and operate and troubleshoot ventilation, oxygen delivery devices, and related therapies.

Minimum qualifications include an accredited CoARC program (associates acceptable), Illinois RCP licensure, NBRC CRT, and Basic Life Support. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• CoARC-accredited respiratory care program completed; associate degree acceptable.
• Active Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner license in good standing.
• NBRC CRT credential required.
• Basic Life Support certification required.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory care per policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Perform patient assessment and analyze data to support plan of care.
• Operate and troubleshoot respiratory equipment including ventilation and oxygen devices.
• Provide airway care and administer inhaled medications as part of patient care.
• Communicate with families and multidisciplinary team to identify needs.
• Anticipate emergent situations and intervene as needed.
