Job summary

Johns Hopkins Children's Center in Baltimore, MD seeks a Pediatric Respiratory Education Coordinator to lead staff development and clinical education across the Neonatology Department. You will coordinate education, support evidence-based respiratory care, and serve as an advanced clinical resource.

The role involves creating training programs, guiding competencies, mentoring staff, and collaborating with leadership to enhance patient safety and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field is required.
• Graduate of a CoARC-accredited Registered Respiratory Therapist program.
• Minimum five years of clinical experience in age-specific critical or intensive care.
• Current NBRC RRT credential.
• Current Maryland Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• ACLS and PALS certifications where applicable.
• NRP and STABLE certifications when NICU work is involved.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver workshops, classes, self-directed learning and computer-based training.
• Coordinate annual competencies and education to meet regulatory and professional requirements.
• Support student rotations, staff orientation, precepting and ongoing clinical development.
• Evaluate learning needs and use results to improve education.
• Maintain and update educational resources, including SharePoint materials.
• Provide clinical guidance, mentor staff and support leadership with conflict resolution.
• Promote a positive, supportive work environment and strengthen relationships between staff and leadership.
• Assist leadership with staffing needs, product evaluations, policy development and special projects.
• Maintain clinical expertise to support bedside practitioners and emergency response.
