Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing or higher preferred.
• Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Illinois.
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients/families, physicians and hospital staff.

Responsibilities

• Performs nursing assessments utilizing various assessment methods.
• Develops or individualizes plans of care and sets family-centered goals.
• Creates teaching plans to meet patient and family learning needs.
• Performs nursing care according to procedures and protocols.
• Communicates with families and the multidisciplinary team about health care needs and changes in patient status.
• Keeps up to date with current nursing and healthcare literature to inform practice.
