Job summary

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is seeking a part-time registered nurse for 2 x 10-hour weekday shifts, starting at 7 am. This RN must take call from home 5-10 shifts per month, including overnights and weekends.

The hospital offers pediatric-focused care, a collaborative team environment, and opportunities for professional development. Candidates need 2 years of RN practice, preferably in pediatrics with cardiology, CCU, PICU, or PACU experience; BSN or higher; Illinois

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) or higher
Current IL RN licensure
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and staff

Responsibilities

Performs nursing assessments using various methods and tools
Develops and updates plans of care aligned with family needs
Delivers teaching plans for patient education and evaluates progress
Follows procedures and protocols for nursing care and emergent situations
Communicates with families and multidisciplinary team about patient status and referrals
Maintains current nursing knowledge and participates in quality initiatives
Upholds service principles with focus on innovation, service excellence, and teamwork
Identifies learning needs and seeks resources for professional growth
Demonstrates competency with disinfection and sterilization protocols as required
