Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse for two 10-hour shifts weekly, starting at 7 am. The RN will take on-call shifts (5–10 per month), including overnights, weekends, and some holidays. Requires 2 years of RN experience; pediatric care preferred with potential cardiology/CCU/PICU/PACU exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing; current Illinois RN license; BLS certification from American Heart Association.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians and staff.
• Peds experience preferred; cardiology procedural/CCU/PICU/PACU exposure helpful.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments using various methods and tools.
• Develop and adjust care plans and set goals with family participation.
• Educate patients and families with tailored teaching plans.
• Provide nursing care per procedures and protocols; respond to emergent situations.
• Communicate patient status and care needs with multidisciplinary team.
• Keep current with nursing practice and hospital quality initiatives.
• Contribute to unit and hospital goals as a cooperative team member.
• Identify learning needs and pursue professional development.
• Support service principles: innovation, service excellence, teamwork.
• Demonstrate knowledge of disinfection and sterilization protocols when required.
