Job summary

The DMC Children's Hospital of Michigan in Detroit, MI seeks an Imaging/Radiology professional for a full-time night shift. Under supervision, you will perform diagnostic radiology exams using appropriate imaging equipment and verify patient identity and history.

Responsibilities include explaining procedures, setting up equipment, acquiring images, reviewing images with a radiologist, and participating in quality improvement and resident education.

Qualifications

• ARRT registration in Radiography (R) is required.
• BLS (Healthcare Provider) certification by end of orientation is required.

Responsibilities

• Verifies patient identity and reviews medical records for exam appropriateness.
• Interviews patient to obtain medical history and assess risk factors.
• Explains procedure, risks, benefits, alternatives and follow-up to patient.
• Sets up imaging equipment and acquires appropriate images.
• Reviews images, notes deviations from protocols, and communicates with radiologist.
• Recognizes and responds to medical emergencies as appropriate.
• Provides physician-prescribed post-care instructions to patients.
• Participates in quality improvement activities within radiology practice.
