Job summary

Qualifications

• ARRT radiography certification required.
• BLS healthcare provider certification by end of orientation period.

Responsibilities

• Verifies patient identity and reviews medical records for exam appropriateness.
• Explains procedures, risks, benefits, alternatives, and follow-up to patients.
• Sets up equipment and acquires images per script.
• Reviews images, notes deviations from protocols, and communicates with radiologist.
• Recognizes and responds to medical emergencies as appropriate.
• Provides physician-prescribed post-care instructions.
• Participates in process improvements within radiology (quality, patient flow, etc.).
• Provides imaging education to residents, students, and new staff.
• Available for call/standby as required by department.
