Job summary

Nicklaushealth is seeking a skilled RN to assess, plan, implement, and supervise patient care on a pediatric-focused nursing unit. You will work under supervision, communicate with physicians and teams, and ensure safe patient flow and education for patients and families.

The role requires active Florida or multi-state RN licensure, BLS, and PALS within 2 years, with BSN or ongoing BSN studies. Familiarity with EMR, medication administration, and pediatric care is essential.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Florida or eNLC, active and in good standing.
• CPR/BLS certification active and in good standing.
• PALS certification within 2 years of hire.
• BSN degree or current enrollment in BSN program.
• National certification preferred within 5 years of hire.
• On-call availability.
• Pediatric nursing experience in Critical Care/OR/ER preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Strong time management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Communicates the patient’s progress and changes in condition to the physician and care team.
• Plans, implements, and documents the plan of care with other disciplines to ensure safe, efficient care.
• Performs ongoing patient assessments and educates patient/parents before, during, and after procedures.
• Maintains patient dignity, confidentiality, and advocates for the patient.
• Obtains consents and documents in the EMR; follows Six Rights of Medication Administration.
• Initiates IV access and places urinary catheters per policy.
• Ensures safe, infection-free care delivery and effective patient monitoring.
• Assesses all body systems and ensures safe, efficient care with minimal medication errors.
