Job summary

Actalent is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist for a contract role in San Diego, CA. You will perform blood collection by venipuncture and capillary techniques across age groups, with emphasis on pediatric collections and difficult draws.

The position requires compliance with safety standards and strong communication to staff. The role includes providing orientation and training for patient services, and may require shift flexibility including evenings and weekends in both inpatient and outpatient

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• CPT 1 License required.
• 6 months phlebotomy experience in a hospital setting required (Pediatrics, ICU, High Volume, etc.).
• Inpatient experience required.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collection using venipuncture and capillary techniques for patients of all age groups.
• Conduct pediatric blood collections and manage difficult draws, especially in medical office buildings.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and effectively communicate their importance to other employees.
• Provide orientation and training for patient services.
