Job summary

Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is seeking a part-time Phlebotomist for the Evening shift at the Burnet Campus. This 0.5 FTE role focuses on phlebotomy and lab support for infants, children and adolescents.

Responsibilities include specimen collection, point-of-care testing, patient education, and collaboration with the care team. A high school diploma is required; 2+ years phlebotomy experience or a Phlebotomy/Medical Assistant program is expected. Certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of Phlebotomy or other relevant Clinical Lab specimen collection experience OR completion of a Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant program.
• Preferred: Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certification

Responsibilities

• Perform approved specimen collection procedures, point-of-care testing services and processing.
• Provide education/information and support to patients and families concerning tests and specimen acquisition.
• Assist in special projects, evaluations, experiments or research.
• Act as patient advocate and meet patient/family needs.
• Provide information concerning patients admitted to, referred to/from, transferred to/from, or discharged from home unit.
• Provide emotional support to patients/families as needed.
• Utilize a customer focus in completing assignments, communicate in a courteous and conscientious manner.
