CareerNerds, LLC is seeking a Phlebotomist (Code CVDJP00036082) for a contract role in Monroe, NY. Schedule is Mon-Thu 9:00am–6:30pm and Fri 9:00am–1:00pm, with projected duration of 3 months and potential for permanent placement.

Responsibilities include performing blood draws, labeling and processing specimens, maintaining records, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Pediatric experience is required; valid state phlebotomy certification and at least 6 months’ venipuncture experience are

Formación

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED
• Pediatric experience required

Responsabilidades

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explains the venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Fully understand all physicians' orders and match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Package specimens for transport and maintain sample temperature per protocol.
• Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations; attend annual trainings.
• Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
