Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Pediatric experience required.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures and explains the venipuncture process clearly to patients.
• Demonstrates technique with straight needles and butterfly needles as required.
• Ensure test requisitions and labels match accurately and package specimens for transport.
• Adhere to OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual department trainings.
