Job summary

Pediatric Home Service in Texas is seeking a full-time Patient Service Representative to join our customer-focused team. Our Customer Service department is a fast-paced, high-energy environment and you’ll find yourself challenged and required to use critical thinking every day.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or 1–6 months of related experience and/or training.
• DME intake/admissions experience preferred.
• Exceptionally organized, multi-tasking, problem solving and communication and strong keyboard skills.
• Experience in Brightree EHR a plus!

Responsibilities

• Creates and confirms delivery tickets for Durable Medical Equipment (DME).
• Creates IV Delivery Tickets (as applicable).
• Assists internal and external customers and staff through the Customer Service help desk, phone calls, email or face to face encounters.
• Serves as the Patient Services Coordinator of the Day (COD) (as applicable).
• Maintains database of physician orders.
• Performs call-outs.
• Processes returned mail.
• Obtains patient supply orders via telephone, fax or helpdesk.
• Obtains physician orders for products and services provided.
• Obtains and assists with new patient referrals via telephone and completes the DME intake.
• Updates patient account information on an ongoing basis, including patient change forms.
• Addresses complaints concerning billing or service rendered, referring complaints of service failures to designated departments for investigation.
• Coordinates courier service with appropriate staff for deliveries as needed.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and PHS requirements regarding internal and external electronic medical record (EHR) access.
• On-call duties/rotation may be required based on business need.
• Other duties as assigned.
