Job summary

Pediatric Home Service is seeking a full-time Patient Service Representative in Richardson, TX, to join a fast-paced Customer Service team dedicated to helping medically fragile children and their families. You will handle ticketing, referrals, and account updates while delivering compassionate service in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities include intake of DME orders, coordinating deliveries, handling inquiries via phone, email or in person, and maintaining accurate patient records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or 1–6 months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Durable medical equipment (DME) intake/admissions experience preferred
• Exceptionally organized, multi-tasking, problem solving and communication and strong keyboard skills. A high level of initiative combined with a customer service mentality is also required.
• Experience in Brightree EHR a plus!

Responsibilities

• Create and confirm delivery tickets for Durable Medical Equipment (DME).
• Create IV Delivery Tickets (as applicable).
• Assist internal and external customers and staff through the Customer Service help desk, phone calls, email or face to face encounters.
• Serve as the Patient Services Coordinator of the Day (COD) (as applicable).
• Maintain database of physician orders.
• Performs call-outs.
• Processes returned mail.
• Processes ‘to dos’.
• Obtains patient supply orders via telephone, fax or helpdesk.
• Obtains physician orders for products and services provided.
• Obtains and assists with new patient referrals via telephone and completes the DME intake.
• Updates patient account information on an ongoing basis, including patient change forms.
• Addresses complaints concerning billing or service rendered, referring complaints of service failures to designated departments for investigation.
• Coordinates courier service with appropriate staff for deliveries as needed.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and PHS requirements regarding internal and external electronic medical record (EHR) access.
• On-call duties/rotation may be required based on business need.
• Other duties as assigned
