Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a Nurse Patient Safety Specialist to lead patient safety initiatives and collaborate with clinical leadership. The role focuses on coordinating safety programs, education, and regulatory compliance across the system.

Ideal candidates have RN licensure in Georgia, 5 years of nursing experience (pediatrics preferred), and knowledge of Joint Commission standards. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Georgia or Multi-State via eNLC.
• 5 years RN experience; pediatrics preferred.
• BSN or higher preferred; pediatric experience valued.
• Familiarity with Joint Commission standards.
• Experience with patient safety improvement projects.

Responsibilities

• Serve as patient safety expert consultant for clinical leadership and safety committees.
• Maintain occurrence notification system and root cause analysis.
• Identify trends and implement action plans to improve safety.
• Conduct complex RCAs for serious events and near misses.
• Educate physicians and staff on patient safety trends.
