Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a Nursing Education Specialist to assess, plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate education for clinical staff, promoting professional development and safe patient care.

Responsibilities include onboarding, competency management, and design of continuing nursing education with LEAN and LMS tools; candidates should have a BSN, Georgia RN licensure, and pediatric experience.

Qualifications

• BSN with RN licensure in Georgia or multi-state (eNursing Compact)
• 3 years pediatric experience
• NPD certification preferred
• Master’s degree preferred
• Experience in pediatric designated specialty area
• Experience in patient/family, clinical or community education

Responsibilities

• Facilitates onboarding of new employees with orientation processes.
• Develops and implements an individualized orientation plan.
• Coordinates logistics of orientation and keeps stakeholders informed.
• Develops, manages, evaluates and documents competency outcomes.
• Promotes regulatory compliance and maintains educational records.
• Documents educational activities using LEAN, LMS and related tools.
