Job summary

Dayton Children's is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to support nurses in delivering patient-centered care on the Main Campus. The role emphasizes safety, confidentiality, and effective communication, with cross-training to assist both clinical and clerical tasks.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED, PCA training or related healthcare education, and 1-2 years of hospital STNA experience is preferred. CPR may be required within two weeks of start date.

Qualifications

• HSD/GED required.
• PCA training or PCA experience or active enrollment in a health care related education program required.
• 1-2 years STNA experience in hospital setting preferred.
• CPR preferred at hire, but must be obtained within 2 weeks of start date.

Responsibilities

• Assists the nurse in completion of patient care activities.
• Records vital signs, intake and output, and assists with activities of daily living.
• Provides safe transportation and environment for patients.
• Cross-trained to support clinical and clerical sides of the business.
