Job summary

Connecticut Children’s is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) on an inpatient unit to provide direct patient care and essential support to families. Under RN supervision, you will assist with feeding, hygiene, vital signs, transport, admissions and discharges, and help maintain a safe, clean environment in a pediatric setting.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED (CNA/Med Assistant or EMT preferred) and at least one year of pediatric PCA experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or higher.
• CNA/Medical Assistant or EMT training preferred.
• Minimum of one year pediatric PCA experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct Patient Care: assist with feeding, personal care, vital signs, transport, and admissions/discharges.
• Documentation: record patient information in electronic records and supply systems.
• Unit Support: manage inventories, clean and maintain equipment, and assist with clerical tasks.
• Demonstrates cultural sensitivity and adherence to infection control and safety policies.
