Job summary

PeaceHealth is seeking a Patient Access Representative for Pediatrics in a full-time day position in Bellingham, WA. The role coordinates scheduling, insurance verification and pre-certification, acting as a liaison between patients and physician practices.

Responsibilities include pre-registering patients, collecting payments, verifying benefits and obtaining prior authorizations. Strong attention to detail and customer service are essential. Office-based role with standard business hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year medical office or related customer service experience.
• Experience with Word, Excel and Outlook preferred.

Responsibilities

• Pre-registers/registers patients with accurate demographic and financial data.
• Collects patient balances, co-payments, co-insurance, or other payment types.
• Verifies coverage and ensures insurance requirements are met; obtain prior authorizations/referrals as needed.
• Responds to customer inquiries.
• Assists with departmental coverage as needed.
• Manages daily appointment schedules; may perform reminder calls and referals.
• May transport patients using escort or wheeled transport equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
