Job summary

PeaceHealth is seeking a Patient Access Representative for Family Practice in a full-time capacity. The role coordinates scheduling, insurance verification, and pre-certification, acting as a clinical liaison with physician practices and pre-visit services.

The position involves pre-registering patients, collecting balances, verifying coverage, obtaining prior authorizations, and managing daily schedules. Strong customer service and medical terminology knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year in medical office or related customer service
• Preference for MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook)

Responsibilities

• Pre-registers/registers patients with accurate patient demographic, financial data.
• Collects patient balances, co-payment, co-insurance, or other payment types.
• Verifies coverage and ensures all insurance requirements are met, and obtains prior authorizations/referrals.
• Responds to customer inquiries.
• Assists with departmental coverage as needed.
• Manages daily appointment schedules with reminders and referrals.
• May transport patients using escort or wheeled transport equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
