Job summary

Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC seeks an experienced RN for PACU to deliver high-quality postoperative care. The role requires 2 years PACU or equivalent, BSN preferred, and DC RN license with CPR and PALS; CPAN/CPN preferred.

The pay range is $43.96 - $63.99 per hour. Shift: 9:00a - 9:30p. The department emphasizes evidence-based practice, safety, and collaboration across the care team to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• BSN from an approved school of nursing; preferred.
• 2 years PACU experience or equivalent critical care/ Pedi ED.
• Current DC RN license.
• CPR and PALS required; CPAN/CPN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Post-anesthesia care including airway management and IPPV as needed.
• Monitor cardiopulmonary function and oxygenation.
• Manage postoperative pain and epidural/local anesthesia care.
• Ensure patient safety and effective handoffs.
• Demonstrate evidence-based practice and contribute to unit projects.
