Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC is seeking an experienced RN for the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The ideal candidate will hold a BSN and have at least two years of PACU or critical care pediatric experience, with CPR and PALS certifications.

The nurse will provide comprehensive postoperative care, manage airway and pain control, and participate in team-based care to ensure safe recovery of pediatric patients.

Qualifications

• BSN required.
• 2 years PACU experience or related pediatric/critical care experience.
• DC RN license or eligibility required.
• CPR, PALS required; CPAN/CPN preferred.

Responsabilités

• Assess and manage airway postoperatively; monitor cardiopulmonary function.
• Perform IPPV as needed and ensure patient safety post-anesthesia.
• Manage post-operative pain and epidural/local anesthetic administration.
• Respond to emergent situations and coordinate with care team for safe patient outcomes.
