Job summary

Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The RN will provide comprehensive postoperative care, manage airway and monitor cardiopulmonary status, and collaborate with the care team for safe handoffs and patient outcomes.

Preferred BSN, with 2 years PACU or related clinical nursing experience. Valid DC RN license, CPR, and PALS required; CP N and CPAN preferred.

Qualifications

• The licensed Registered Nurse will be licensed in DC.
• Experience in PACU or critical care preferred.
• Strong airway management and anesthetic agent knowledge.
• Demonstrates problem-solving and critical thinking in patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive post-anesthesia care to diverse pediatric patients.
• Manage airway postoperatively and monitor cardiopulmonary status.
• Administer analgesia and monitor for emergence delirium.
• Collaborate with health care team to ensure safe handoffs and care.
