Job summary

Children’s Mercy in Kansas City is seeking a PACU-staff nurse to deliver age-appropriate perioperative care for patients undergoing Level 0 to 4 procedures in a hospital setting.

The role uses the nursing process to ensure safe outcomes and high-quality care, while coordinating with the care team and educating families. ADN is required; BSN preferred, and MO/ KS RN licensure is required upon hire.

Qualifications

• ADN is required; BSN preferred for post-2013 hires.
• MO/Kansas RN licensure required upon hire.
• Specialty nursing certification encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide high-quality, age-appropriate care for patients undergoing Level 0–4 procedures.
• Meets educational and informational needs of patients and families and advocates for their needs.
• Maintains a safe, family-centered perioperative environment.
• Uses current research to improve nursing care quality and expand professional knowledge.
