Job summary

UNM Hospitals in New Mexico seeks a Pediatric overnight Pharmacist to provide expert medication management for neonate through geriatric patients in an inpatient setting. You will counsel healthcare teams, compound and dispense medications, and ensure adherence to formulary and safety protocols.

The role includes participation in Continuous Quality Improvement, dosage optimization, and education of residents, students and staff.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist licensure in NM within 90 days.
• Board certification preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy.
• Advanced degree or board certification with PharmD/Pharmacotherapy beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Counsel physicians, other health professionals, and patients on drug usage and dosing.
• Compound and dispense medications and pharmaceutical supplies.
• Maintain inventory records on narcotics and other controlled substances.
• Ensure timely filling and delivery of prescriptions or orders.
• Participate in CQI programs and pharmaceutical care improvements.
• Educate residents, students and technicians in pharmacology practices.
