Job summary

UNM Hospitals is seeking a pharmacist to primarily staff the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with cross-training in other areas as needed. The role includes patient and clinician education, dispensing medications, and ensuring safe, cost-effective therapy in an inpatient setting.

The position carries weekday/night, weekend/night differentials and is a 0.75 FTE, full-time, rotating shift. Candidates should be licensed pharmacists with NM license and hospital pharmacy experience; relocation

Qualifications

• Program Graduate required.
• Accredited College of Pharmacy essential.
• Pharmacist License NM required within 90 days.
• CPR for Healthcare/BLS within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Consult with physicians and patients about drug usage and dosage.
• Compound and dispense medications per physician orders.
• Ensure adherence to hospital policies and participate in CQI initiatives.
• Provide patient counseling and education at discharge or in inpatient settings.
