Job summary

UNM Hospitals in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a Pediatric overnight Pharmacist to provide expert pharmaceutical care in the inpatient setting. You will compound, dispense and verify medications, educate staff, and ensure safety protocols for neonate through adolescent patients.

The role requires NM pharmacist license within 90 days, CPR/BLS certification, and strong collaboration with physicians and the healthcare team.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist license in NM within 90 days.
• CPR for Healthcare/BLS within 30 days.
• Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy.
• Optional: Board certification in pharmacotherapy.

Responsibilities

• Professionalism in communications, duties, tasks and customer service.
• Compound and dispense medications per physician orders; verify accuracy.
• Maintain inventory records on controlled substances and prescriptions.
• Ensure timely filling and delivery of prescriptions; prepare IV/PO conversions.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize therapy and safety.
• Counsel patients and families; participate in CQI and quality programs.
• Document interventions in charting and clinical documentation systems.
• Participate in education of residents, students, and technicians.
