Job summary

Pen Bay Hospital, part of MaineHealth, seeks a Physical Therapist to evaluate patients, develop plans of care, and deliver treatments to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability in line with the Plan of Care and APTA standards.

Qualified candidates will have an APTA-accredited PT program, current state licensure, and BLS certification or ability to obtain within 30 days; a valid driver’s license is needed for Home Care positions.

  • Graduate of an APTA-accredited Physical Therapist program.
  • Current state license as a Physical Therapist; BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days.
  • Possesses or is eligible for state licensure as a Physical Therapist.
  • Valid driver's license required for home care positions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform physical therapy evaluations and develop plans of care.
  • Carry out treatments to restore function and relieve pain.
  • Provide care in accordance with American Physical Therapy Association standards.
  • Support patients to reach maximum performance per Plan of Care prescribed by the provider.

Summary

The Physical Therapist role performs physical therapy evaluations, develops plans, and carries out treatments to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of a body part; helps patients reach their maximum performance in accordance with the Plan of Care prescribed by the provider. Provides all aspects of care based on standards established by the American Physical Therapy Association.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)
  • Education: Graduate of an APTA accredited Physical Therapist program required.
  • License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) temporary/permanent license as a Physical Therapist required or in compliance with the state practice act. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Positions in Home Care will require current valid Driver's License with vehicle available for work covered by liability insurance as specified by agency policy.
  • Experience: One year of experience working in a hospital, long-term care, home, school system, or outpatient Physical Therapy department preferred.

The pay range for this position is $83,324.80 to $112,736.00 per year.

Compensation for part‑time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full‑time equivalent (FTE). In addition to base pay, MaineHealth offers comprehensive benefits, recognition programs, career growth opportunities, and, where applicable, shift differential or other incentives.
